IMAM HASSAN CISSE GIVING A HISTORICAL NARRATIVE OF
AN INSTANCE DURING THE LAST DAYS OF SHEIKH IBRAHIM NIASS WHEN HE WAS WITH HIM
AT THE HOSPITAL IN LONDON....................💔❤️🌹
AS WE REFLECT ON THIS VERY SAD DAY(45 years ago [26th July, 1975]) WHEN THE MUSLIM AND THE NON MUSLIM WORLD LOST A GLOBAL ICON/SAINT, MAULANA SHEKHUL ISLAM, IT IS CONSOLING TO LISTEN TO AN AMAZING EULOGY BY HIS GRAND SON, IMAMUL KHADRAH, AL-USTAZUL ALLAMAH IMAM HASSAN ALIYU CISSE!!!
"...(Sheikh) had never neglected any of his
ahzaab (azkaar) and his faraaed (mandatory routine of worship)...I remember one
day he was feeling so much pain to the extent that a doctor came and tied an
injection tube on his arm....
When the time of zuhur salat was due, he asked me
if the time was due, and I said yes it is time....
He then said: "How can I pray today?".
And I said: "You would not pray today...Allah
will not impose upon a soul something beyond its ability"....
He said to me: "But that was the view of (Imam)
Malik who said:
He who does not get access to water and is
incapable of doing "tayyamum" or dry ablution
Then the four opinions will serve as school of
thoughts for him (to choose any of them).
He has to pray in contrast to what Malik said.
Malik said, he doesn't pray and doesn't expiate for it (later), but as for me I
will pray." So he prefered the opinion of Abal Qasim (Prophet Muhammad
s.a.w).
As I said, he had never neglected his wird (litany).
I came to him one morning and the Doctor advised us to give him water to drink
every now and then.
So when I came with water he was looking at me and
not talking and there was no tasbaha or rosary in his hand, until I got bored
of standing and returned to my place.
So after he finished he said, "Ya Hassan, I
was reciting the wird of laazim (mandatory litany). And when a murid recites
wird, he is not supposed to talk or drink.
And I said: "Sheikhana, I read in a book,
"درة التاج"/
"Durratul
Taaj" that: "It is possible for him to drink".
He said:
"No...no...even if it were to drink with dosage of drugs or medicine,
because water extinguishes the temperature or warmth of "zikir". So it
is recommended for a "zaakir" (someone in a state of zikir) to wait
for a moment (when he finishes) before he drinks, because water quenches the
temperature of zikir...."
This is a great
lesson for us all, especially for those murids who infringe upon the code of
ethics of tariqah to the extent of neglecting their salat without any tangible
reason, with their wishful thinking that, since they are followers of Sheikh
they can neglect salat and still be in good standing with Allah Almighty!
