RAMADAN MUBARAK YA JAMA'AH, THIS IS THE FIFTH IN OUR RAMADAN SERIES OF QURANIC TAFSIR TRANSLATION PROJECT FROM THE GREAT BOOK OF TASIR OF MAULANA SHEIKH IBRAHIM NIASS ENTITLED:
"في رياض التفسير"/
"IN THE GARDEN OF EXEGESIS"

THIS PART REVEALED WHAT FIR'OUN USED TO EAT EVERY DAY AND HOW OFTEN HE WOULD GO TO TOILET. IT ALSO DISCLOSED HOW HE KILLED 110,000 BABIES IN ORDER TO AVOID BEING KILLED BY A BABY IN FUTURE (MUSAH). IT ENDED WITH THE NARRATIVE OF THE VARIOUS REQUEST MADE BY BANI ISRAEL TO ALLAH WHO FULFILLED ALL FOR THEM INSTANTANEOUSLY:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Allah Almighty has mentioned in this verse the story of the children of Israel with (Fir'oun) Pheroa. And the name of Fir'oun who was known with Musah was Mus'ab bunul Rayyan or Al-Waleed bun Mus'ab. He had been the king of Egypt for 400 years. He had never felt pain in his head even once. He had never been sick even once. He would eat a camel everyday and would go to toilet only once after 40 days.
So after this (privilege), he got tempted and said, he was not a slave and then claimed divinity. "I do not know any God for you except me". After that, he also claimed "I am your supreme lord".
This Fir'oun then saw in a dream that, a fire left the place of Bani Israel and burnt his place and all his belongings. Then the idolatrous or gentiles told him that a child would be born among the children of Israel and he will be the cause of the demise of your kingdom. This is the meaning of your dream.
He said: Children of Israel are my slaves so it is not possible for a child among them to be born to cause the demise of my kingdom.
Then whenever a boy is born among the children of Israel, I must kill him. So he instantly killed 20,000 babies who were already born. And he continued killing every baby boy among the children of Israel until he killed 90,000 babies plus the 20,000 (He had already killed).
That was 110,000 children.
All this was being done for the sake of searching for Musah. And the divine tongue (voice) was (secretly) addressing him saying that, the child that you want to kill, you will rather raise him in your own room and you will spend on him until he will be the cause of your destruction in his own hands.
So Musah was born as it will come in the stories to be the cause of the destruction of Fir'oun. So when Allah destroyed Fir'oun and his people, Musah requested from Allah to give him a Book with which he will guide his people, the children of Israel. And (halal) lawful and (haram) unlawful injunctions would be in it, as well as commands and prohibitions.
Then Allah commanded him to fast for 40 days. This 40 days fasting was unlike all it's nights and days. This was 80 nights, he would not eat for the period of 40 nights and days. And he would not feel hungry because he would face the (divine) presence in one day.
He went to Khidir in the afternoon and said: "Bring us our launch because we have experienced difficulties in this our journey". So when he went to a creature (man), he became hungry for half a day. But when he faced Allah Almighty, he stayed for 80 days, that was 40 days by night and he did not feel hungry.
So it was because of this that the Prophet (PBUH): Whoever devoted himself sincerely to Allah for 40 days, wisdom will spring up from his heart and flow on his tongue.
This is the origin of (khalwah) seclusion, that is for those who make khalwah for 40 days. The origin of khalwah is for three days. "Three days (without talking) but only (given) a sign" and khalwah for seven nights "seven night and eight days in succession" ((And remember when you said to Musah we will not believe in you until we see Allah live (openly), then a thunderbolt struck them while you were looking.
Then we sent you (as a messenger) after their death in order that you may express gratitude. And we lowered the clouds above them)) We have covered them with the clouds. ((And We sent down to them (manna and salwaa) they were tringbin and quils ((Eat from the good (food) that we provided for you)) and do not hord.
Then they denied the blessing and horded and then (their provisions) were cut off ((They did not wrong has but they rather wronged themselves)), because it's the consequences were upon them ((When We said enter this town)) Jerusalem or Jericho ((And eat of the plenty therein as you wish)) much as you desire without any difficulties in it ((And enter the gate)) it's door ((in humility)) humbling yourselves ((And say)) our issue (in posture)) say hiddah, what wipes out sins, which is "LA ILAHA ILLA LAH" ((Your sins will be forgiven and we shall increase (our blessings) upon the kind ones. Then those who did wrong changed)) among them ((a statement not the one they were told))
They said there was a seed in hair and entered creeping up on their head. They were commanded to make (sujud) or prostrate and to say "LA ILAHA ILLA LAH", and they did not prostrate but rather entered creeping up on their heads and they said a seed entered the hair ((Then We revealed upon those who were wrong a calamity)) a punishment or a plague ((from the havens due to what their evil acts)), of leaving behind obedience of Allah.
When they were in Al-Taihi they said: Musah, when can we get what to eat? Then a tablespreads (containing food provisions) were sent down to them from the havens and they begin to eat.
And whenever comes the times of lunch, food would come down according to the amount they could eat, and the tablespreads would ascend back to the havens when they finished and would come back down during their lunch time the next day.
They said: Where can we have clothing?
Then Allah guaranteed that their clothing will not wear off. They said: When can we get water to drink? Then (Musah) hit the rock and 12 pipes or sources of water started gushing out.
They said the sun was harming us. Then Allah lowered down the clouds in order to cover them, so they would not feel the scorching heat of the sun. Then they lamented about the darkness of the night, so Allah drove all the columns of light from Al-Taihi saharah. All these were done by virtue of the blessing of Musah with them.
These are the virtues of companionship, because in spite of their destruction and their violation of the command of Allah, as well as the occurrence of punishment upon them, Musah and Haroun were among them. And they gave this as part of the kinds of blessings, all by virtue of of Musah and Haroun. And Haroun and Musah were among the pious servants of Allah. However, when they befriended those evil people, they also dwelled with them for forty years in Al-Taihi.
They tasted some punishments, due to the companionship. As the evil men also enjoyed blessing due to their companionship. So both good and evil are in companionship. Allahu Salli Alaa Sayyidina Muhammad Wassalim...
RAMADAN MUBARAK, YA JAMA'AH. THIS IS THE FOURTH IN OUR RAMADAN SERIES OF QURANIC TAFSIR TRANSLATION PROJECT OF OF MAULANA SHEIKH IBRAHIM NIASS, IT IS FROM HIS BOOK ENTITLED:
"في رياض التفسير "/
"IN THE GARDEN OF EXEGESIS"
THIS PART DWELLS ON THE SORT OF PUNISHMENTS THAT ALLAH METED OUT TO THE JEWISH PEOPLE WHO REBELLED AGAINST HIM.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

((O you the children of Israel)) When He narrated the history of the succession of Adam, He spoke to the children of Israel who were contemporaries of the Prophet (PBUH). Some of them areO the children of Israelchildren of Ya'kub(Jecob) ((Remember my blessing that I bestowed upon you)) And upon your father's, by rescuing you from Fir'oun (Pheroa) from splitting sea and the shading of the clouds and other things.

So you have to show appreciation by obeying me. Allah Almighty stated in this chapter the blessing he bestowed upon the children of Israel, which is ten. So they confronted it with ten of vicious or evil acts.

Then Allah send ten kinds of punishment. And all of them are in this chapter.1
And the Jewish contemporaries of the Prophet (PBUH) Allah have confronted them with ten kinds of vicious acts, then Allah Almighty punished them with ten kinds of punishment.

And the reason for the tale or narrative of these characteristics of their forefathers was that, the Jews used to attribute spiritual purity to their forefathers and believing they were on the straight path. And they were obeying Allah Almighty.

And with these verses they knew their fathers were rather not on the right path "Remember my blessing that I bestowed upon you", that is upon your fathers ((And fulfill my covenant[promise])) which I undertook with you of believe in Muhammad (PBUH) ((I will also fulfill your covenant)) which I made.

((And fear Me)) be scared of me when you fail to fulfill my covenant. ((And believe in what I revealed)) from the Qur’an. ((Confirming what is already with you)) of the Torah due to its agreement with "tawheed" monotheism. ((And do not be the first to disbelieve in it)).

The first party or group to disbelieve ((in it and do not purchase)) exchange ((with my verses)) which are in your Books from the epithet of Muhammad (PBUH) ((with meager amount)) an easy offer. ((And fear Me)) be scared of me ((And do not mingle)) do not mixup ((The truth)) which was revealed onto you ((with falsehood)) which you are fabricating ((And)) do not ((hide the truth)) the epithet of Muhammad (PBUH) ((While you are well aware)) that it is the truth ((And establish prayer and offer the (zakat) poor tax) and bow with those who are bowing)) pray with those who pray, Muhammad (PBUH) with his companions.

And it was revealed in regards to their scholars, and they used to their Muslim neighbors: Remain on the religion of Muhammad (PBUH), because it is the truth. And of someone suggest to them the need to believe in Prophet (PBUH), they would see it as strange.

They would say to him, I believe in him as the truth prophet and when their followers consult with them they would say: No he is not a Prophet (PBUH) ((Would you command people with righteousness)) a rhetorical question...that is, why would you command people to believe in Muhammad (PBUH) ((And you forget yourselves)) You neglect yourselves and you would not command yourselves ((While you are reciting the Book)) Torah and there is a threat about preaching virtues and practicing otherwise.

((Are you not (thinking) wise?)) about your wrong doing and stop. ((And seek)) assistance with your matters ((with patience)) confining the soul upon what it hates ((And prayer)) establishing the prayer, which He associated it with (zikir) remembrance as glorification for it. And in a hadith, the Prophet (PBUH) whenever an issue worries him, he would engage in prayer.

And it was said it is a message to the Jews when insatiability and create for leadership prevented then from believe, they were commanded with patience, which is fasting, because it diminishes or reduces desire or lust. And prayer because it brings about concentration.

((And it is)) this prayer very huge (difficult) heavy ((except upon the devoted ones who thinking)) who are certain ((that they will meet their Lord)) after resurrection ((And to him is their return)), so He will reward them ((O you the children of Israel mention my blessing that I bestowed upon you)) Allah Almighty reminded them of his blessing so they will express gratitude ((And I preffered you)).

I have preffered your fathers ((above the entire people of the worlds)) the world of their generation ((And fear the day that a soul will not reward another soul of anything)) which is the Day of Judgment ((And intercession will not be accepted from her)) that is, it will not have (the power of) intercession "And we are not among the interceedors" ((And any compensation be accepted from her)) redemption ((And neither will they be assisted)) to be prevented from punishment ((And)) remember ((When we rescued you)) that is your fathers ((from the people of Fir'oun)) from Fir'oun and his family.

((They are dishing out to you)) they are axecuting ((grevious chastisement)) severe punishment ((They are slaughtering your children and killing your sons and let your women-folk live)) they are leave ((your women)) for the saying of some priest (superstitionist) that a child would be born among the people of Israel that will be the cause for the demise of your kingdom.

((And in that)) in that punishment ((is huge scourge or calamity from your Lord)) big tragedy from your Lord. Or in that salvation a scourgeconferment huge from your Lord((And)) remember ((When We parted or split)) then we said ((the sea for you and rescued)) from drowning ((And we drowned the people of Fir'oun)) Fir'oun and his people ((Within your very sight)).

And when we promised Musah for the period of forty nights)) that we will give him the Torah at the end of it ((Then you adopted a calf)) which was crafted by (Musah) Samiriyu as a god ((after him)) after him going to our promised time ((And you are wrongful)) by your adoption and for your worship of what is not worthy of worship ((Then We forgave you)) your sins ((After that so that you will show appreciation and when we gave Musah a Book and Criterion)) meaning the Qur'an(that distinguishes between right and wrong).

((So that you will be guided. And when Musah said to his people O you people you have wronged yourselves by adopting the calf)) as god ((So repent towards your creator, and then slay yourselves [the wrong doers])) so the innocent will kill the criminal among you ((That is better for you in the sight of your creator)) He then helped you to do that and sent a black cloud (as a cover), so that some of you would not see others in order to have mercy upon them, until about 70,000 people were killed ((Then He accepted your repentance)) before you repented ((He is most Forgiven and most Merciful)).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

1- Imamu Suyuti mentioned in his exegesis of this verse that, three out of these blessings are: Rescuing them from Fir'oun, splitting of the sea,
and lowering the cloud.

RAMADAN KAREEM YA JAMA'AH, THIS IS OUR THIRD IN THE SERIES OF TAFSIR TRANSLATION PROJECT FROM THE GREAT BOOK OF TASIR OF MAULANA SA'EBUL WAQT, SHEIKH IBRAHIM NIASS ENTITLED:
"في رياض التفسير "/
"IN THE GARDEN OF EXEGESIS".

IN THIS PART, SHEIKH INDICATED TO US HOW IBLEES GOT ACCESS TO PARADISE AFTER HE WAS EXPELLED WHEN HE REBELLED AGAINST ALLAH. AND HE REQUESTED TO BE CARRIED BY A SNAKE THROUGH HER MOUTH SO HE CAN CONVEY A MESSAGE TO ADAM. AND HE REVEALED TO US WHERE EACH OF THEM (ADAM, HAWWAH, IBLESS AND THE SNAKE) FOUND THEMSELVES ON EARTH WHEN ALLAH EXPELLED AND DESCENDED THEM ON EARTH FROM PARADISE!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Allah Almighty responded: All these suspension it's answer is that, his earlier statement was not with the right that is with him alone. He (Allah) said, I am his creator and his Lord. If I am his creator and his Lord, then I would not be questioned upon what I do.
The Lord is the creator who does what He wills. He first admitted that Allah was his creator, his Lord and master. If this is true, then he has nothing to do but to exemplify only what his Lord has commanded him with.
So his claim that he is a servant of Allah, he has no right to claim that, because he would be challenged with these objections. And this doubt of Iblees was the one that led many communities astray from the first generation (era) to the last generation. He said he is better than Adam, this one was created from clay, while he was created from light.
He had worshipped Allah for thousands of years, he was closer to Allah. And this one was created from clay, how could he be better than me? He doesn't know that Allah does what He wills.
So when the first among the Prophet, Nuhu alaihil salam came, his people said, "This is but a human like you", it is not right to follow him but only the last generation. And this was the same thing the Quraish said in regards to Muhammad (PBUH).
And these are suspicions that are not move away from people and all other doubts branch into this doubt. ((And we said, O Adam dwell you and your wife)) Hawwah ((in Paradise and eat in it of what you wish)) much more without any hardship (in obtaining it).
((However you should not go near this tree)) to eat it, which was wheat tree or vineyard tree ((Then you will turn to be)) you will be ((among Transgressors)) sinners ((The Shaitan removed them)) Iblees moved them ((out of it)), that is from Paradise ((And he removed them from what they used to be in)) of luxury and enjoyment ((And we said descend)) onto the earth the two of you and your progeny ((some of you)) some of your progeny ((are enemies to some)) enemies to some ((And you will remain on earth permanently)) a steady place ((And a pleasure)) what they would be enjoying with ((until a certain time)) time when their life ends ((Then Adam was intuited with some words from his Lord)) He inspired him with them.
Allah commanded Adam and his wife to dwell in Paradise, after He created Hawwah from his left rib and her husband to dwell in Paradise, and Allah Almighty prohibited them from eating the tree. And Ibless was expelled from Paradise. And a snake was an animal with four legs, very beautiful in Paradise. So when Iblees was unable to enter Paradise to confuse the mind of Adam, he yelled loudly outside the premises of Paradise, then a snake came to him.
He cried and said to her: I have an advise for Adam and I am not able to enter Paradise, so put me in your mouth in order not to let the angels see me to enable me go to Adam and convey the advise to him.
Then the snake did that. So Iblees entered the room of Hawwah and realized that Adam was absent and he sworn by Allah that this tree is the tree of immortality(perpetual life), if they eat from it they will never leave out of Paradise, and if they did eat of it Allah will definitely expel from Paradise. So Hawwah said, no body can swear by Allah while he is lying. Then she picked three seeds from the tree and ate one instantly and stored/saved one for herself and one for her husband.
Then Adam came and ate one seed. And instantly, their garments got ripped off their bodies. Then Adam cried and yelled on the land of Paradise until the angels held him firmly. And Allah Almighty asked: Adam what is your problem? He said: He has eaten from the tree. "Haven't I prohibited you from eating from that tree?" He said: "It was Hawwah who has fed me (with its seed). Then He asked Hawwah: "What is your problem?" Iblees advised me and he sworn by your name and a liar can not swear by your name. He then asked: How did Iblees got into Paradise? He said: It was the snake that took me in it. Then all of them were expelled from Paradise and descended on earth, Adam, Hawwah, Iblees and the snake. They are enemies to one another, then he (Adam) descended in Sirandeeb in India, Hawwah in Jeddah, Ibless at Aylati and the snake in Isfahan.
So Adam became ashamed for 300 years, he would not raise his head to the sky, as he was crying due to this disobedience act. <<Then Adam was intuited with some words from his Lord>> Allah had inspired Adam with some words that he received from him Almighty ((Then He forgave him)). These words were believed to be "Our Lord we have wronged ourselves" up to the end of the verse. So he prayed to him with it and He forgave him, that is He accepted his repentance. ((Verily, He accepts repentance)) from his servants ((Merciful)) upon them.
Adam received some words from Allah Almighty and he repented with it and Allah accepted his repentance. And Ibless used his own words and requested for repentance and he was not granted, because he did not have "izin" permit. This is the secret being used in seeking izin from the Sheikhs. Adam received some words from his lord and he accepted his repentance and Iblees when he used his own words to repent, it was not accepted from him. So this is the reason why Sheikhs are utilizing izin in everything. And the secret (divine secret of) Allah is always valid with izin or permit.
Even the Prophet (PBUH) himself received the Qur'an from Jibril, while he was closer to Allah than Jibril, but he preferred receiving it "And he is a caller in the course of Allah with his permission". Adam ate this tree and the image of eating the tree is the image of sinfulness. And in reality, it is obedience in the right of Adam. That is the disobedience of a special kind of people. Outwardly, it is disobedience and inwardly it is disobedience.
Adam was inwardly communicated to by Allah Almighty and He said to him: I created Paradise and Hellfire and promised them both that I will fill them up. And this was not possible unless when I created a creature and brought forth a progeny from his lion. Among them are the obedient who will go to Paradise, and a disobedient who will go to Hellfire. And i enforced the angels (to avoid something) and they refrained from it and the "Al-hurul 'Aain", the women with exceptional beauty in Paradise.
"We have offered the trust (of the universe) to the havens and the earth and the mountains, and they have declined to carry it, and they felt compassionate of it. And then mankind carried it". Adam said: If there is something that will please you in this, then i will exemplify it. He said: I will appear like you have disagreed with me and disobeyed me. He said: If there is your satisfaction in it, then I do not care.
This is why he disagreed outwardly, while he is obedient inwardly. Ibnul Arabi Al-Hatimi said: When Adam ate the tree, he descended on earth and he became the vicegerent of Allah on earth. He became father to all the prophets, messengers, esoteric scholars, saints and believers until the Last Day. And he became father to the leader of creation Muhammad (PBUH). He (the Prophet) said, if i were in the position of Adam, I would have eaten all (seeds) of the tree and all its veins.
So this was a physically manifested of sinful act, but it was not a real (esoteric) act of disobedience. As (Sheikh) Jiyali said in his poem[ which i just summarized and paraphrased bellow]:
There is a difference bewteen a waliyi/saint and a fasik/evil person...If I used to violate the rules of Sharia, but i do abide by the rules Haqiqah [esoteric reality]....
A scholar has asked me in Makkah: What is the meaning of the saying of Allah Almight: "Then Adam disobeyed his Lord and and was tempted (to eat from the tree)"? I said to him: Adam is the servant of Allah Almighty and this is the word of Allah. Allah has the right to say: Adam disobeyed and was tempted. But as for me and you, we are the children of Adam, it is incumbent upon us to obey our father.
Our position is "Then he responded to him, He accepted his repentance and guided him" Allah says: "Adam disobeyed his Lord and was tempted", But as for us, we would say: "Then his Lord responded to him, and accepted his repentance and guided him". "Al-tawwab", is a phrase only attributed to Allah by virtue of the multiplicity of acceptance of repentance from his servants".
A servant could be described as a "ta-eb", a repentant or "tawwab" and Allah could be descirbed as " tawwab", but He could not be described as "ta-eb". ((We said get out of it (descend) all of you)) from Paradise ((All of you)). He repeated in order to sympathize with him ((So when guidance comes to you from me)) a Book or a messenger ((Whoever followed my guidance)), then he believed and acted according to my obedience ((Then they will have no fear and they will not be sad.
But those who have disbelieved and deny the truthfulness of our signs)) that we have written ((Those are the people of hellfire they will remain in it forever)) they will remain in it permanently for a long time, even if it will not be permanent. It doesn't require permanence, this is why Allah said in some verses "They will remain in it permanently", if remaining in it is measured by an absolute permanence, they wouldn't have required to be there infinitely.
31ST MAY, 2017
RAMADAN MUBARAK YA JAMA'AH, THIS IS OUR SECOND IN THE SERIES OF TAFSIR TRANSLATION PROJECT FROM THE GREAT TAFSIR BOOK OF MAULANA SHEIKH IBRAHIM NIASS ENTITLED: "في رياض التفسير", "IN THE GARDEN OF EXEGESIS"
THIS IS A CONTINUATION FROM THE PREVIOUS ONE WHERE ALLAH WAS NARRATING TO OUR BELOVED PROPHET MUHAMMAD(PBUH) THE HISTORY OF ADAM WITH THE ANGELS. SHEIKH DILATED AT LENGTH ABOUT THE SIGNIFICANCE OF KNOWLEDGE, BY VIRTUE OF WHICH ALLAH RAISED ADAM ABOVE THE ANGELS. HE ALSO MENTIONED SEVEN DIFFERENT PEOPLE THAT ALLAH ENDOWED THEM WITH HIS ESOTERIC/INWARD KNOWLEDGE !!!
~~~~~~~~~~

This is the narrative history of Adam with the angels. When Allah created Adam, He taught him these things and the angels do not know it. Then Allah used that as a proof that Adam deserved to be successor, because he knows the knowledge that the angels do not know.

This is why scholars say: It is only a scholar who deserves to be an Imam, because Allah had proven to the angels regarding the succession of Adam due to the knowledge (He endowed him with). So this is the virtue of knowledge. When He taught Adam names which the angels did not know, Allah made him the successor on earth and commanded the angels (as it will soon come) to prostrate to him. Prostration of greetings.

This is an edivence regarding the prestige (honor) of knowledge. Knowledge is the leader and actions follows it. And the virtue of knowledge was stated by the Qur'an, Sunnah (Hadith) and common sense.  However, in the Qur'an Allah mentioned the virtue of knowledge in many verses. Among them is, "Verily, scholars among Allah's servants are the most fearful or pious".

And part of it is: "Allah has witnessed that there is no god but him and the angles and the people of knowledge". So Allah mentioned four categories (of people) that He raises their status: The people of Badar. "Verily, the faithful once are those whose hearts get tranquiled when Allah is remembered". This was revealed in regards to the people (who participated in the war) of Badar.And he said at the end of the verse, He raises their statuses, He grants them earliest ranks.

 He also mentioned "mujahideen"/fighters in the course of Allah. "Allah has preffered those who fight in his course above those who sit (or remain home without engaging in war) and will grant them a great reward". And Allah Almighty has raise the status of the pious ones. "And whoever comes to me as a believer and did good deeds those will have highest ranks".

 So He will raise the status of the  knowledgeable ones above all these categories. "Allah raises those who believed among you and those who were granted knowledge to certain ranks". Then He placed the people of knowledge on the third rank. "Allah has witnessed that there is no god but him and the angels and the people of knowledge".

There are seven kinds of people in the Qur'an all of them Allah stated He had taught them knowledge (directly[esoteric/inward knowledge]) without an intermediary: "He had taught Adam all names" and he gained succession with that and the virtue of prostration of the angels to him.
And Allah Almighty says, He taught Khidir the knowledge of Physiognomy [The art of determining character or personal characteristics from the form or feature of a boy or of a person, especially by a mere look at his face].

"And We have taught him a (divine) knowledge from us", so he was blessed with that, students like Musah and Yusha'u. And He taught Yusif dream interpretation and analysis, "O Lord you have granted me a kingdom and have taught me some dream interpretation". Then he got Zulaiha (his wife) and the kingdom.

And had taught Dawud how to make a war garment with the iron.  "And we have taught him how to make war garment with the iron.." And he was blessed with leadership and kingdom.

And He taught Sulaiman (language) of communication with the bed. "We have taught (him) communication with the bird" and the teacher was Allah. Then he was blessed with  kingdom and Bilqees and (her) throne. And He taught Issah the Book (Qur'an) and wisdom and Torah and Bible, "And He was teaching him the Book, Wisdom, Torah and Bible", and he gained with that the honor of ascension to the havens and communion with the angels.

And He taught Muhammad (PBUH) the Shari’ah, "He taught you what you never knew"and he gained the (honor) of intercession (on the Last Day).

Aliyu may Allah be pleased with him said:
Knowledge is better than wealth with seven things:

1- Wealth is the inheretance of the Pharaohs
And Knowledge is the inheretance of the Prophets

2- Wealth diminishes by spending while Knowledge does not diminish with spending (teaching)

3- Wealth could be earned by both a believer and non believer, while Knowledge is obtained only by a believer

4- Wealth needs a protector and a guard, while Knowledge protects the person who possess it and doesn't need a protector

5- Wealth will remain when the owner dies, while Knowledge will enter with the possessor of it in his grave and will not leave him

6- Wealth will make walking on the "siraat" (thin tread that each person will walk on on his or her way to Paradise or Hellfire) very difficult, while Knowledge strengthens the possessor of it to walk on the "siraat", without any difficulty

7- The possessor of knowledge is needed by all people, while the possessor of Wealth is not needed by everyone

So knowledge is virtuous than wealth.  And if Adam, may Allah be pleased with him was taught the names of creatures and he gained some honor with that Knowledge to the extend of earning the prestige of the angels prostrating for him and greeting him, then we are taught (Allah/Divine Self) and attributes and names not the names of creatures, but rather the Names of Allah, his Attributes and his Supreme Self.

So if we know this, then why are we not getting or recieving the Salam or greetings of the angels?  But we do recieve what is above it, which is the greetings of the Lord, "Peace be upon you from the Merciful Lord".

So when Khidir obtained the companionship of Musah and Yusha'u by virtue of his knowledge of Physiognomy [The art of determining character or personal characteristics from the form or feature of the boy of the person, especially, face], while they were both prophets. So we have obtained the knowledge of "haqiqah" esoteric (inward) knowledge, why couldn't we obtain companionship of the Prophet (PBUH)? We do obtain it! "Those are the ones Allah had bestowed his blessings upon them such as the prophets, the honest ones, the martyrs and the pious and those who are the best (people) to befriend". Al-hamdulilah!

It is part and parcel of the virtues of knowledge that, when a student leaves his house to a scholar seeking knowledge, the angels spread their wings in honor and respect for him. As much as he frequently visit his teacher, Allah Almighty sends forth mercy toward him.

And when he happens to be at the place of seeking knowledge (classroom), whoever understands the lessons (being taught), he knows the value of what he gains. And whoever doesn't understand whatever is being taught will gain honors: He will find himself in the obedience of Allah Almighty, so far as he is in that premises of studies, even if he doesn't understand anything. He is confined or restricted from sinfulness, as far as he is in that place.

 And being in the company of scholars and angels, and even if he doesn't understand anything that is being taught, it would humble his heart, so Allah will be in his company (I am in the company of whoever humbles himself because of me) [according a hadith culled from Ruhul Bayaan].

This is part of the virtue of knowledge. When Allah wanted to notify the angels that Adam was better than them, He endowed him with some knowledge that they don't have, then they eventually confessed that Adam was better than them. ((And)) remember O Muhammad (PBUH), ((When Allah commanded the angels to prostrate to Adam)), prostration of greetings by bowing.

Or it was like the prostration of bowing, not prostration of worship, which non deserves to be done to him but only Allah Almighty. Or Adam was made as a "qiblah" for them, as Ka'abah was made as a "qiblah" for us prostration to it, but in reality it was not what we prostrate to.

And whatever the case was, this prostration to amyone other than Allah Almighty was abrogated ((Then the entire angels prostrated except Iblees)). He was the father of the Jinni, who used to be among the angels.

((He refused)), he refused to prostrate ((He was proud)) and said I am better than him. ((And He was among the non believers)). Iblees used to be called Azazeel. He was a servant (of Allah) who was closer. He had worshipped Allah Almighty on virtually every inch or spot on earth  for thousand years.

And he was the stock master or doorman of Paradise for forty thousand years. He was a warrior for sixty years. This was before Adam. And when Allah created Adam and commanded the angels to prostrate to him, Iblees become so stern and severe in spite of the verse (as a divine command), he said, he was better than Adam so he would not prostrate to him, he declined and the rest of the angels prostrated.

Originally, prostration used to be only once, and that was the point of anology here, which is more befitting. Because Allah is One, so prostration was only one. But when the angels prostrated for half a day, which was equivalent to five hundred years in the sight of Allah, and they raised their heads from the prostration, they saw that Iblees did not prostrate.

They then made a second prostration to show appreciation to Allah for not afflicting them with what He afflicted Iblees (of refusal to obey Allah's command), then prostration became twice or two time (in salat/prayer). Rukuh or bowing was only one time and Sujud or prostration was only one time as well, because the Lord of worship is One, but the second one was only showing gratitude to Allah Almighty.

He threw suspension or doubt among the angels, that if Allah did not respond to it, none would have been able to respond to it with the mind. He said: I know that Allah is my Lord, my creator and my possessor. Why did He create me after knowing that I am an immoral or evil being in order to punish me? will He leave me alone?

 And why did He create me and I was obeying him, He is my Lord, why did He command me with prostration to other person than him, who was Adam? And when I refused to prostrate to Adam, why did He expell me and cursed me and made me an evil being, while I did not say anything but only that, I do not worship anyone but only my Lord.

I do not prostrate to anyone apart from Allah and so He expelled me while He knows from the onset (inception of the universe that) when He commanded with prostration to Adam, I would not prostrate to him, so why did He command me to prostrate to him?

 So when He cursed and expelled me, He made me and all those who followed me as evil beings. Why did He leave me in the world and gave me command in the world over the children of Adam to misguide and mislead them?

And I requested for him to prolong my life until the End of Time and He accepted this from me aslo. He knows that, the world that has no evil in it is better that the world in which there is evil, why couldn't He let people rest from (my tempation) and kill me?

RAMADAN KAREEM YA JAMA'AH!!! TODAY IS THE FIRST IN OUR TAFSIR TRANSLATION SERIES FROM THE GREAT BOOK OF TASIR OF MAULANA SA'EBUL WAQT, AL- SHEIKH IBRAHIM NIASS AL-KAOLAKHI, ENTITLED:
"في رياض التفسير" "IN THE GARDEN OF EXEGESIS"
THIS IS A CONTINUATION FROM WHERE WE CONCLUDED LAST YEAR WHICH I SHARED LAST WEEK TO REFRESH THE MINDS OF READERS. WE ARE STILL IN CHAPTER TWO, SURATUL BAQARAH (THE COW) FROM VERSE 29. THE CONTINUATION OF HIS AMAZING ANALYSIS HERE DWELLS ON THE WISDOM BEHIND ALLAH’S CREATION OF THE FLY AS WELL AS THE CREATION OF ADAM FROM CLAY AND WATER, AND WHEN ALLAH POSED A CHALLENGE TO THE ANGELS TO NAME NAMES OF EVERYTHING HE CREATED, THEY FAILED TO AND HE TAUGHT ADAM NAMES OF EVERYTHING. YOU WILL OBSERVE THAT OUR SHEIKH IS A GREAT AND A GIFTED EXPERT IN
"TAFSIRIL QUR'AN BIL-QUR'AN" AND "TAFSIRIL QUR'AN BIL-HADITH", WHICH ARE THE BEST METHODOLOGY OF TAFSIR:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ma-amoon happened to be on his minbar (podium), then a fly landed on him and he drove her away and she came back and he drove her again. But when she continued coming, he could not (continue) and stopped.
Then Allah sent a scholar from Madinah to him by name Abi 'Uzail to ask him what is the wisdom behind why Allah created these creatures? He answered him saying Allah has created them as a source of humiliation to the mighty kings like you. So a powerful king whenever he would sit on his throne, the fly would lean on dirt (excrement) and land on him while he can not drive her away.
He said to him: You have spoken the truth, Allah Almighty created her because of this. And (the Wiseman) said, had it not been the existence of flies, the world would have been rotten and stinky. In spite of that, these ugly odors are being consumed by the flies and the wind would carry it and would vanish into thin air.
If it weren't the existence of flies, the world would have been rotten and infected its dwellers. Allah says:He misguides many with it and guides many with it. Why did Allah say He guides many and people of guidance are few as compare to the people of misguidance? The people of prayer are many and the people of guidance are few, and in spite of their small numbers, they are many within themselves, not in relation to the people of misguidance but are many within themselves.
Or if the people of truth are few, they are the supreme and they are many and victorious. And the lesson for them, in reality is that the misguided ones are more than the guided. And that is for the pride of faith and for satisfaction with Allah Almighty. If He had wished, the entire people on earth would have believed. "If Allah had wished all those on earth would have believed", but due his power over creation, He has made most of the human and jinnis people of misguidance.
And non would be misled by it but the ill-manneredwho are out of the path of those who are obedient to him. ((Those who are breaching the covenant of Allah after signing an agreement)). What He has promised them (covenants) in the Books of believe in Muhammad (PBUH). The covenants of Allah are three: Firstly, the covenant He made with the progeny of Adam, "Am I not your Lord? they said yes". And secondly, the covenant taken by the messengers that when they meet the Prophet (PBUH), they will believe in him and follow him. And thirdly, the covenant He made upon scholars to "clarify his message to people and will not conceal it".
This covenant was broken by the Jews. He (Allah) has made a covenant breakable, as if He made it like a wing or rope, because the covenant is known in Arabic language as rope. So it was due to this that it became permissible to use this term with "naqd", break or breach. ((After taking his covenant)), what stresses it is ((And they break what Allah has commanded them to connect", such as believe in the Prophet (PBUH), taking care of one's parents and other things. And they are causing corruption on earth with sinfulness and obstruction against belief.
((They are the losers)), due to their destiny to the Hellfire to dwell therein infinitely. ((Why would you disbelieve)) O the people of Makkah ((in Allah and you used to be)) you were ((dead)) sperms from the lions or backbones ((Then He revived you to life)) in the wombs, in the world, by blowing the soul into you, and the question is for exclamation. Why would they disbelieve after all this? ((Then He put you to death)) when their times end. ((Then He revives them)) with resurrection)) Then to him is your final return)).
You will be returned after resurrection so He will reward you with your deeds. And He said this as a proof upon resurrection when they denied it. ((He was the one who created for you what is on earth)) the earth and what it entails ((entirely)) in order to benefit from it and to understand.
Allah Almighty has informed that He had created the earth for the children of Adam (mankind) and all what is in it in order to benefit from it and to understand that the creator who is capable of creating this is also capable of resurrecting them after their death...They said: The children of Adam are those who have wielded sovereignty on earth and what is in it.
Not for permission, so this is why (ibahiyyah) "permissibility": which is a school of thought among the "mu'tazilah" schools of thought that says Allah Almighty has created for the children of Adam all what is on earth and there is nothing (haram) forbidden for us on the surface of the earth, after Allah had created them for us.
But that is not what it meant. ((Then He positioned himself)) after creating the earth, then He intended ((Towards the havens and He formulated them)) that is He rendered them ((Into seven havens and He is knowledgeable over all things)). He knows everything in its entirety and in its detailed form.
Don't you consider that the one capable of creating that from the beginning is greater than you and capable of returning you back? "He has created for you all what is in the earth then He positioned himself in the havens". In this verse as if the creation of the havens was after the creation of the earth.
And in Suratul Nazi'aat, Allah Almighty says: "And the earth He had smoothen it after that, as if the creation of the earth was before the creation of the havens. And putting them together, Allah Almighty has first created the earth first, then He created the havens. And after creating the havens, He spread or flattened the earth and made it how it is now. Both of it could been done either earlier or later.
((And)) remember O Muhammad (PBUH) ((When Allah said to the Angels I am going to make a vicigerant or succesor on earth)) who will succeed me in implementing my rulings on it. Allah Almighty has mentioned that He had informed the angels that He made a successor on earth who was Adam and imbedded in him a soul which has desire(lust) and anger and mind, as human, possessing three strength: strength of anger spills blood, strength of lust corrupts the earth with sinfulness and the strength of the mind is the one that makes things good. Then the angels looked at Adam and said this two strength must certainly overcome one strength. So there must be corruption and there must be spill of blood.
And it was said that they understood that Adam and his progeny will cause corruption on earth with the expression of "khilafah", because "khilafah" is driven from " khalaf", meaning (literary) dissension or discordance. Every successor must inevitably disagree or conflict with the one who came before him. So when Adam became the successor of Allah, they knew that corruption and shedding of blood are inevitable for him.
Or they have read this in the (Lahul Mahfuz) Preserved Slate that Adam would be the succesor of Allah on earth and he has a progeny. Some of them are causing corruption on earth and spilling blood, until Allah will fill up the Hellfire with them. While some of them are obedient, and Allah will fill up Paradise with them. They read this in the (divine) Books. So this was why they said what they said. Or they heard that from Allah Almighty before.
He had rescued them before they said to him: Our Lord this is Hellfire, it is a creature, it's strength is severe, what will you do with it? I will create a creature and make offspring from his lion, among them there are some who will obey me and I will grant them Paradise and among them there are those who will disobey me and I will put them into Hellfire.
Their objection or protestation of the succession of Adam, they have understood it upon these angles.And we are praising you and sanctifying you. He said i know what you don't know. Then Allah neglected them ((And He taught Adam all names)). Names of names, names of all creatures ((All of them)), even the bowl and the plank, the blackness and fascism, scoop or ladle.
Allah Almighty knows all things that he would/will create. This (creature) it's name is a horse and the wisdom in it is so and so, and this (one), it's name is a donkey and this....and even a scoop and a ladle is a large and small utensil or a container. And the scoop is everything that Adam knows about from the beginning of time to the end of time.
And the angels do not know anything about this. ((Then He showcased them to the angels and said)) in a reproaching manner ((tell me)) inform me ((the names of these)) names ((If you are truthful)) in the fact that I do not create anyone more knowledgeable than you or if you are more deserving of succession than Adam.
((They said "Subhaanak", glory be upon you)) sanctifying you for objecting or protesting your decision. ((We have no knowledge except what you have taught us)) of it ((You are the most knowledgeable and wise)), whose knowledge and wisdom could not be deminished. ((He said)) Almighty ((O Adam inform them)) the angels ((the names)) names, then Adam named everything by its name and mentioned the wisdom behind creating it.
((When he informed them their names He (Allah)said)) Almighty to them in a scolding manner, ((Haven't I told you that I know the unseen of the havens and earth and I know what you are manifesting openly)) you are manifesting in your words Will you place in it((And what you are concealing it)) hiding of your words that Allah will never create the most
honored (respectful) and knowledgeable of him than us.
To be continued every other day....This is to allow readers to read well and digest and to afford me more time to translate due to my busy schedule at work.
FOLKS, THIS IS THE 8TH IN THE SERIES OF ANALYSIS BY MAULANA SHEIKH IBRAHIM NIASS IN HIS BOOK:
"في رياض التفسير", " IN THE SHADOW OF EXEGESIS"
UNDER THE TITLE:
 "الأولياء والولاية",
"SAINTS & SAINTHOOD"
______________________________________________
*مشهورين في بركة المستورين*
*THE FAMOUS ARE WITHIN THE BLESSING OF THE HIDDEN*
قال الله تعالى :"بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم تبارك الذي بيده الملك وهو على كل شيء قدير" -الآية الأولى من سورة الملك-
قال الشيخ ابراهيم نياس ضمن تفسيره لهذه الآية )ص188/ج6( :
أنزل الله تبارك وتعالى سورتين كلاهما فتحها بقوله "تبارك" ومعناه كثرت خيراته أو تعالى تنزه عن صفات المحدثين.. الله تبارك وتعالى متصف بجميع صفاته اللائقة به ومنزه عن جميع صفات المحدثين، أولا : "تبارك الذي نزل القرءان على عبده" وهذه " تبارك الذي بيده الملك"، فالعالم دائما تقوم فيه دولتان، دولة ظاهرة لأرباب الدول ودولة باطنة للمتمسكين بالقرءان لأن الله هو الملك الحق، وهو ظاهر وباطن، فظاهر مملكته للملوك وباطنها للعلماء ورثة الأنبياء خلفاء الله في الأرض، فكل دولة ظاهرة قائمة بقوة دولة باطنة، فأهل الدنيا مددهم وقوامهم يأتيهم من أهل الله، فالمشهورون في بركة المستورين.
Allah Almighty says: "In the Name of Allah the Beneficent the Merciful. Exalted is the One in whose hand belongs kingdom and He is capable of doing everything" - First verse of Suratul Mulk (The Chapter of Kingdom). Sheikh Ibrahim says in his exegesis of this verse(Chapter 88, Volume 6.
Allah Almighty has revealed two surahs where He commenced them both with his saying, (Tabaraka), "Exalted", which means his goodness are many or He is exalted above the description of people [speaking about him]. Allah Almighty is characterized with his entire qualities which benefit him and He is free from the features of those speaking about him. First: "Exalted is the one who revealed the Qur'an upon his servant" And this one "Exalted is the one in whose hand posses kingdom". So, there are usually two kingdoms in the world. A manifest kingdom for the lords of the nations and a hidden kingdom for the holders of the Quran, because Allah is the truthful (real) King, and He is both manifest and hidden. So apparently, his kingdom belongs to the kings and secretly belongs to the scholars who inherit the prophets, successors of Allah on earth. Hence every manifest nation is established on the secret nation. So the people of the world obtain the sustenance and strength from the men of Allah, and the popular are under the blessing of the hidden".
• قال الله تبارك وتعالى : "وممن خلقنا أمة يهدون بالحق وبه يعدلون" الآية181 من سورة الأعراف-
أورد الشيخ ابراهيم نياس في تفسيره لهذه الاية الكريمة )ص344/ج2( ما يلي :
أخبر تبارك وتعالى أن من أمة محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم أمة يهدون بالحق وبه يعدلون بشارة للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وللأمة المحمدية ، فسره الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم بقوله :" لا تزال طائفة من أمتي ظاهرين على الحق لا يضرهم من خذلهم حتى يأتي أمر الله وهم كذلك" وقال : " والذي نفسي بيده ليدركن عيسى ابن مريم في أمتي خلفا من حوارييه". وهؤلاء لا يزالون أبدا لا تخلوا منهم بقعة ولا زمان حتى ينزل عيسى – الحمد لله-
وممن خلقنا أمة يهدون بالحق وبه يعدلون" فيهم جماعة الأولياء، ولذا قال صلى الله عليه وسلم" لا تقوم الساعة حتى لا يقال في الأرض الله الله"..
* Allah Almighty says: "And part of what we created is a (Ummah) society which guides by the truth and are regulating [their affairs] with it" verse 181 from Suratul Al-'Araf-
Sheikh Ibrahim Niass cited in his exegesis for this holy verse (page 344/volume 2) as follows:
Allah Almighty has stated that among the society of Muhammad [PBUH] there is a community that guides by the truth and regulates [their affairs] with it. It is a glide tidings to the Prophet [PBUH] and the society of Muhammad. The Prophet [PBUH] interpreted it saying: "A section from my society will not cease manifesting the truth, while they will not be harmed by the one who let them down until the command of Allah[the Lat Day] comes while they are on that." And he said: "I swear by the One in whose Hand my soul belongs to, prophet Issah the son of Maryam [may Allah be pleased with him] will recognize in my Ummah some successors among his disciplines". And they do not cease to repudiate a spot from them nor time until Issah will descend - All praise be to Allah -
"And part of what we created is a society which guide by the truth and are regulating [their affairs] with it" Among them are a group of saints, and the Prophet [PBUH] said"The End of Time will not come to a close until [people] will stop saying "Allah Allah" on earth"....
وورد )إن لله ثلاثمائة رجل قلوبهم على قلب ءادم، ولله أربعون رجلا قلوبهم على قلب موسى، ولله سبعة قلوبهم على قلب ابراهيم الخليل، ولله خمسة قلوبهم على قلب جبريل، ولله ثلاثة قلوبهم على قلب ميكائيل، ولله واحد قلبه على قلب إسرافيل( والواحد في الحديث هو الذي يعبر عنه الصوفية بالقطب والغوث والخليفة، وبهؤلاء الجماعة ترزقون وتمطرون، ولا تزال الدنيا بخير ما دام هؤلاء موجودين، والرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: ان عيسى سينزل على الأرض وأولئك موجودون. الحمد لله.
It was narrated that(Allah has 300 men whose hearts are akin to the heart of Adam(may Allah be pleased with him). And Allah has forty men their hearts are like the heart of Musah (May Allah be pleased with him) And Allah has seven people whose hearts are like the hearts of Ibrahim Al-Khalil (may Allah be pleased with him). And Allah has five people with hearts are similar to the heart of Jibril. And Allah has three people with hearts akin to the heart of Meekaeel. And Allah has one man whose heart is like the heart of Israfeel (And the one in the hadith is the one sufis call qutub or pole. And gausu and it is [by virtue of the prayer of this group] that they are provided with wealth and rain. And the world will not cease to be in goodness, while these people are still alive. And the Prophet [PBUH] said, Issah will descend on earth to see this people available. All praise be to Allah.
